Let's go pick some apples!!
Minard Farms is located 75 miles north of NYC in the mid Hudson Valley with breath taking views of the Shawangunk (the Gunks) and Catskill Mountains. You take the NYS Thruway to the New Paltz exit and it's just a few miles to the farm.
They have over 100 acres of orchard full of easy-to-reach, beautiful ripe apples. They also grow peaches, nectarines, asian pears, raspberries & strawberries (for making jams & jellies), pumpkins, gourds and various vegetables. You could pick your own pumpkin to bring to our annual pumpkin carving party, which we'll be posting soon.
They have apple cider donuts which are apparently very tasty, fresh pressed apple cider and pear cider, homemade pies, homemade jam, jellies & fruit butters, local honey, NY cheeses, NY maple syrup, homemade soap and much more. Oh – don’t forget the roasted corn on the cob and hay wagon rides through the orchard.
They have picnic tables available both at the farm and in the orchard, and have clean, modern restrooms at the farm market. Let's make a day of it - you can either pack a picnic lunch, or get something there to eat, they have roasted local corn, hot dogs, fries, pies, donuts and cider.
