Introduction
Hi My name is Paula and I live in Dobbs Ferry.I'm looking for new friends,new places, new activities-I am ready!
How did you find out about us?
I heard about Meetup on a talk show and a magazine and decided to Google it. I became the organizer of this group and several others within a month or so joining Meetup. I've been the organizer of this group since April of 2005.
Do you prefer hiking in the Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter? What's special to you about that season?
Spring and Fall. The smells are special... spring is fresh, grass and wet dirt waiting to give birth... Fall is crunchy and rich and comforting. Its just starting to get colder, but not tooo cold!
Do you prefer a 'workout' hike, or a slower pace, "stop and see the view once in a while hike".
Both. I like a challenge, But what I like better is a more leisurely pace- I like to stop, listen, smell, feel. I like to see where i'm going and where I've been.Looking at my feet so I don't trip is no fun to me.. and I like to chat-and breathe! lol
Which other counties have you hiked locally?(Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange,Sullivan) Is there a hike you would suggest?
I've Hiked in Rockland County- Bear Mountain & Harriman. Also Greene County. I've hiked Mt Ranier & Olympic Nat'l Park in WA and Zion & Bryce Canyons in Utah. I'd like to explore more of the Lower Hudson Valley with this group.
What is your favorite place to hike in Westchester County?
Teatown in Ossining

"Stats: 14 Yes's were no shows and didn't email/call or change rsvps (some yes's DID change their rsvps but I left the house at 5:45 a.m. so I didn't see them until I returned home after the hike. This is why I give my phone #!)..."
