Maybe Anthony's Nose from the tollhouse, along the Camp Smith trail, or a long loop in Ward Pound Ridge.
Several surrounding areas. You can't go wrong with Harriman, Fahnestock, Storm King, Black Rock...
I don't hike to work out, which is not to say that hiking isn't a workout anyway... I hike to spend time in a natural environment, so I prefer a more casual pace. I'd be perfectly happy covering 15 miles but taking all day to do it. That allows time to observe, appreciate, photograph - and chat when with others.
I've been a 3-season hiker, but I'm game to do more winter exploring if the routes aren't too long (my dog gets cold).
I don't even remember!
I'd like to join others on dog-friendly hikes.
