Tour de Montour and Big Jims

  • May 13, 2014 · 6:00 PM
  • Hendersonville Montour Trail Head

Join us for a mid week  ride ..   The plan is to ride to the left( if you arrive late), and ride for one hour, then turn back and return.

I had such positive feedback from past rides I have scheduled this ride again.

This is a scenic part of the trail to enjoy wildflowers, birds, and even a tunnel. I plan to meet at the Hendersonville trail head and leave at 6:00 p.m . In order to complete ride before dusk we need to leave at 6:00 p.m. That means you arrive prior to 6 to get your shoes on, get your helmet on, pump up your tires. If you arrive late, turn left on the trail, past the bike shop.  Average speed will be about 10mph faster or slower depending on size and speed of group. We should do about 20 miles total. No one will be lost since this is an out and back ride. You can ride at your own pace if you wish and start with us and meet us at end of ride for Big Jims.  There are some bathrooms along the way. Bring water to drink.
I require helmets on all my rides.

Big Jims is a great place for libation and/or food.  They do have a great veggie platter too.

This very easy to get to. Take I-79 south to Southpointe exit, and at light, turn left on Southpointe Blvd. Go about 1/2 mile going under I-79, to a red light. Turn left on Morganza road. At bottom of hill before trail overpass, turn RIGHT on Georgetown Road. Go to second driveway on left and turn where it says Montour Trail Head. I will be in a silver Pick-up truck. . The trailhead is behind the Tandem Connection Bike Shop.

Use extreme caution when crossing Rte 50 on your bike. They have not completed the bridge yet. You must walk your bike when crossing. In case of heavy  rain I will cancel ride by 5:00 .p.m.

If you think you need my cell, just email via meetup and request.
