C,D/3/60 Eureka Canyon Revisited

  • Jun 30, 2013 · 9:00 AM

This ride got a good turnout both times I led it last year, so let's give it another try. We'll meet early at Lexington Reservoir at 9:00 am for a 9:15 am start. Park in the first gravel parking lot on the left on top of the dam. We'll take an early lunch/brunch/coffee stop at Gayle's Bakery in Soquel, with a possible stop for refreshments at the Summit Store towards the end. Ride will be led at a Social C pace, but faster riders are welcome to come and form their own D group. Questions, contact Christine Fawcett [masked]

Its was lovely and cool in the redwoods and along the coast. The top mile of Eureka Canyon, not so much :-)

@Cheng There are at least 5 strong riders from the club heading off to the death ride. We should ride the first pass together!

Where's the meeting location and time? Maybe post a meetup? I'm pretty much only interested in getting the jersey :p After CTK I plan to "enjoy" the Death Ride...

Too bad my knee is not right, I've wanted to ride to Soquel for a few months now.

I cleaned up a route found on the Interwebz:

It starts at Lexington Reservoir, hits Gayle's Bakery, Eureka Canyon, then Summit.

Note that the last two miles seem to go on Highway 17, you might want to follow the same way back (Alma Bridge Road).

Lastly, I stole this route, so please don't kill me if parts of it are off...

P.S. Eureka Canyon was fun, last Sat there was a huge group of triathletes cycling on it.
