I currently have the Cateye Astrale 8 with cadence (it's a wired device) and I've been very happy with it for many years. I once tried a cheap wireless computer and wasn't happy with it and returned it. I've never had a computer that tells the number of feet climbed per ride but that is something that would interest me in the future. All the tech savvy riders are all getting Garmins that work with GPS programs that store all kind of information and you can program your route into it and then it tells you when to turn Right or Left. I'm not ready for that technology yet but many consider me old fashion for not having one yet.

Thank you for the detail response. I am looking into them, as well as, the ACTC Academy, which I plan to register for.

In one word: excellent. I was the slowest rider and everyone was patient, considerate, and accommodating. The leader rode behind me for a while to observe my ride and gave me pointers on how to improve. The lunch at the end of the ride was the cherry on top. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and am grateful to the lead and the other riders. Thank you all!
