Yep - post call is best. Probably more information... Anything specific you want to know or any specific rivers you are interested in?

I was thinking with today's technology everyone having a smart phone including in this meeting folks were not here can probably just dial-in listen in rates to cell phone applies so after 15 or 10 minutes call another Member in the meeting this way you can ask questions
    Just my personal idea

The evening was productive and knowledge filled! Great to meet everyone and looking forward to paddling with all! Thanks for having us!

Next time you drive up here from Albuquerque in bad weather, go the Moab route. I drive to & from Albuquerque about 4 times a year and NEVER go on the million $ highway in bad weather. The Moab route is much easier. Though it is a few more miles, and a few more minutes, it's a lot less stressful!

Hey just like most WSA get togethers, this one was great. Lots of interesting experience gathered together in to room and lots of great energy. Thanks to all for many ideas and dates for river trips and paddling on Yellowstone Lake too (we are planning for September). Susan and Jett were most gracious hosts and they are much apprecited for that as well as for their many other wonderful attributes they share with us in WSA. DeeDee took notes and we will plan to post those on this site within the week or so. That way all who attended and those who did not can see what was shared and planned. Of course, all WSA members are invited and encouraged to boat with the group and share boating events with us all.

Thanks to Jet and Susan for hosting and a special shout out to Doug for putting together such a great get together. I gotta say that Meka Ray and Barb Rusk get the adventure award for driving all the way from down by Albuquerque, NM to make this meeting. Not only the distance but getting stuck in a white out blizzard in Ouray.

I am interested in going on a rafting trip this spring/summer. I live in Glenwood springs so I will not be able to make the meeting. Can someone take notes and contact me afterwards of trip possibilities or put me on a email list to be contacted about river trips. I do have experience being on the river. I have experience paddling as a group member. I do have my own transportation to meet up with a group for a trip. my email is [masked]. Thank for any assistance to be connected with a river group.

Can't wait to meet the group tomorrow! Meka has a midterm until 12p, so depending on traffic, we may be a wee bit late. However, we'll bring good beverages. Snacks may not survive the drive. ;)

This is a good time to come and learn about what goes into planning multiday trips and the gear and logistics involved even if you are interested in other trips. You will get acquainted with the core group of WSA members that make these kind of trips possible.

As of March 7 the Salt river is looking a wee bit (I'll say 'wee' bit) low at 319 cfs, when the recommended level is 1000 cfs or more. http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/123

Hey all, I have the luxury of DJing a middle school dance this night (hooray!) so I can not attend, but I'm super interested in river trips. I'm a pretty good safety boater if I do say so myself. (That's my cute orange kayak at the top of this page.) I'm stoked for the Salt! I'd love to do the Green and San Juan too! I think I may have another river conflict for the Green but I'm not sure about the San Juan. Anyway, I'd love the downlow on what happens this Friday. Have a blasty blast!

I would love to join a float trip this spring. I have not been kayaking in a few years but could comfortably kayak Class III/III+ with some time on the water (or in the pool). I have another commitment on Friday but would be interested in being put on the contact list of up coming trips.

    Doug, regarding North Fork Gunny....
You can float the NF all the way down from below Paonia Res Dam. The upper section is class 2, mid section "Industrial Run" class III (IV at high water, not good for rafts); starting at Paonia River Park to Hotchkiss is class II-III, and from Hotchkiss to Gunny Fork is II, then all the way to Whitewater is I-II.

    February 26, 2013

  • Paul S

Darn, no Deso, Yampa, or Rio Chama permits forme this year. I'll lead some outings on rivers that don't require permits (Gunnison, Price, San Rafael, Muddy, Gunny Gorge).

Price, San Miguel, Upper Dolores below Rico and way above the dam. Roaring Fork. North Fork of Gunny (is there class II-III boating there?). Animas (Animas River Days boating Fest is already on WSA calendar).

I cannot make it to this meeting, but I'm interested in joining the Deso-Gray on the Green River trip. I applied for a permit for it, but didn't get one.
