If you will be coming from down south - Olathe, Montrose, etc. send me an email and we will figure out a time to meet at the put-in.

• A boat & the necessary paddles or oars (if you do not have a boat, announce that in your RSVP to see if any rafters want/ need paddlers)

• PFD - Lifejacket I think probably required by state law. Definitely required on all WSA trips and it must be worn properly. Have a plastic whistle on your PFD (not attached to the zipper-pull)

Throw rope/ bag - optional but all river runners who own them, bring them

• Dry bag or 2x/3x plastic bag wrap for spare warm, dry clothes

• Dress for warm or cool weather; sunny or not;  wet muddy feet

• Sun &/or bug protection

• Lunch & high energy snacks

Easter Eggs (real, chocolate, plastic, or . . . ); Bunny ears, other day-appropriate stuff

• Water &/ or other non-alcoholic beverages

Spare paddle (optional, suggested)

• Boat repair kit (optional for your type of boat)

• Camera, binoculars, GPS (all optional but fun)

Water level  &  the other stuff

In comments please tell what boat you are bringing. If you need a boat or need a paddler in your boat post that and a cell # so contacts can be made in advance of the trip.

Please read this and in the hidden RSVP questions, type the response "I accept', if you do.

Two rafts (one mini-fishing cataraft without fishing pole and one bright green mini-mee), 2 single IKs and Mary and me in solo canoes. This is a really pretty stretch of the Gunnison River, varying from open rolling desert terrain to orange cliff right to the water in some places and abundant fruit orchards (apricot someone said?). Only a few spots of class II - one old broken down diversion dam, one rocky reach with a large hole along the right wall at the base of a 15-20' or so cliff then a splashy wide river-right channel at the mouth of Dominguez Canyon. The take out is really a mess at the mouth of the wash on river right where there is wood debris and more plastic drink bottles than in all the arena area after a Broncos game. Great weather. Nice to meet the mini-mee crew and get Suzy on the river in an IK for one of her first few times.

Fantastic day on the river with warm but not overbearing sun, light breeze, good company and a lazy lazy float with a few exciting bumps along the way. This is a great stretch of the Gunnison for anyone who is a beginner and wants to practice. Photos are mediocre except for the rabbit ears.

Fun! It was a perfect, sunny day, and warm, so the water really wasn't too frigid. We had a nice, small group, very pleasant company as we glided across the mellow sections and bounced over the splashy ones. Wonderful way to spend an Easter Sunday! Thank you for organizing this, Desiree. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I have done that stretch and really enjoyed the paddle. I did it with my touring kayak. Great scenery. Unfortunately I am in SLC. Will love to do it soon though. Plateau creek will be coming up soon. Now that is fun especially above 400 CSF
