CMU Wednesday Night Wanderings - this one, "Climbing Into the Death Zone, on Mt. Everest"

Join Dr. Jon Kedrowski as he recounts his story of the events leading up to one of the deadliest nights in the history of Mount Everest. On May 19 and 20, 2012, winds and bad weather turned violent, killing up to 7 people and stranding others high on the mountain. Hear about his teams effort to get back down the mountain safely, only to return a week later for a second attempt for the worlds highest peak.

Come and see the unbelievable determination it takes to climb in the Death Zone. Jon, a Vail, Colorado native, is an accomplish climber with hundreds of accents on peaks around the world and our own backyard.

Jon is also the first person to camp and spend the night on the top of Colorado's 55 Official 14ers. He acheived the feat from June 23 to September 18, 2011, a stretch of only 95 days from start to finish. Jon's book Sleeping on the Summits: Colorado Fourteener High Bivys will be available.

Spectacular presentation by Jon. I enjoy being reminded every once in a while of the need to truly respect these mountains.

I found another site with 7:30, so 7:30 must be correct out of the two.
