Where on the Western Slope do you live? how long have you been there? Where did you come here from? How did you learn about the WSA group and why did you join? Do you plan to be an "Active" member or is WSA just one more web registration for you?
Fruita. Moved from Anchorage, Alaska in April, 2011
How and about what time in life did you get started with outdoor recreation? What are a few of your favorite outdoor activities?
Hiking, boating, bike riding, dog walks, art shows. Most adventuresome - kayaking to Bear Glacier with Doug Van Etten in 1992; hopping off a boat near Panganasan Falls and then swimming under the falls in the Philippines; canoeing Nahanni River in Canada.
What is the most challenging hike, bike, backpack, 14er, canyoneering, ski/snowshoe, river trip or other outing you've ever done? How or why was that; and, would you do that or something similar again?
Will add in ideas as I come to learn who all is in the group and what they like to do.
Where is the most scenic place you have ever slept in a tent, walked or biked on a trail or travelled by paddle or oar down a river?
Open now but likely evenings and weekends.
After you've been on a few events with us, what kind of event might you be willing to to initiate and share with fellow WSA adventurers? Organize a hike? road or mtn bike ride? an evening on the river? a ski or snowshoe on Grand Mesa? Or... ?
Exploratory winter hikes, art projects when the new space is open.
From Alaska recently moved to Fruita, CO. Am loving all the outdoor activities but will be looking for Art shows and events for the calendar as well.
What Mary h. is saying about this Meetup Group
So much to do and so little time to do it all in. The WSA helps organize the activities, gets us to places we might not go and brings together people from all over. Dang but it's fun!
