Where on the Western Slope do you live? how long have you been there? Where did you come here from? How did you learn about the WSA group and why did you join? Do you plan to be an "Active" member or is WSA just one more web registration for you?

I am from Grand Junction originally and still have many family and friends in the area. In addition to coming to Colorado to visit, I clear my calendar the last week of August to climb fourteen thousand foot mountains. I am looking for like minded individuals who might like to join me...

How and about what time in life did you get started with outdoor recreation? What are a few of your favorite outdoor activities?

I was born and raised in Colorado, but really started getting into more serious hiking adventures as my children I was raising alone became more independent starting in 2,000. Since then I have summitted Mt Whitney several times, 5 other fourteen thousand foot California peaks and now 9 in Colorado...

What is the most challenging hike, bike, backpack, 14er, canyoneering, ski/snowshoe, river trip or other outing you've ever done? How or why was that; and, would you do that or something similar again?

Besides Mt Kilimanjaro in 2014 I did Wetterhorn in Colorado last year that has a 100 foot class 4 section near the summit. I consider myself to be a competent Class 3 and expert on Class 1 and 2 in snow, on and off trail. I have done some Class 4 sections and am interested in developing rope skills for Class 5. I served on Search and Rescue for 5 years in Nevada and am current with my Wilderness First Aid certification.

Where is the most scenic place you have ever slept in a tent, walked or biked on a trail or travelled by paddle or oar down a river?

This summer (2016) I hiked the entire 171 mile Tahoe Rim Trail.

After you've been on a few events with us, what kind of event might you be willing to to initiate and share with fellow WSA adventurers? Organize a hike? road or mtn bike ride? an evening on the river? a ski or snowshoe on Grand Mesa? Or... ?

My express purpose is inviting WSA members to join me on my annual August Colorado adventure...
