A message from Tom Zawistowski, President of the We the People Convention about the future of the Convention and the liberty movement:
The purpose of the 2014 We the People Convention is not only to discuss the issues of the day and hear from national speakers, but to train candidates and people who can be support staff for candidates for the 2015 and 2016 elections. Last December we took a huge step as a movement toward reclaiming the Electoral Process and restoring Representative Government by daring to "Put our Names on the Ballot". Despite having no time, no money, no training and no support staff, we managed to put 68 people on the statewide ballot and hundreds more on local ballots. We managed to win hundreds of races including five house primary races. Imagine what we will be able to do if we have time to recruit candidates and staff, time to train candidates and staff, time to raise money, and time to plan our campaigns!
That is what the 2014 We the People Convention is about and that is why we are bringing in the Leadership Institute (www.leadershipinstitute.org) to help us train our candidates and staffers.
The local elections of 2015 are just a year away and the primary elections for state, federal and local offices are only a year and a half away. We have to start now to greatly improve our chances in those elections. Because the establishment parties will threaten anyone who helps us run our campaigns, we have no choice but to develop new competencies so we can have our own campaign staffs to support true conservative candidates at every level. I am asking all the candidates who ran in the past, and everyone that helped them run for office, and everyone in our movement who would consider running for office or working on a campaign, to attend this Convention and take advantage of the discounted pricing of only $35 per ticket for the Convention.
Those of you who are not interested in being a candidate or training to be on a candidate's staff, we have invited all the potential conservative republican presidential candidates to speak and we will see who we can get to attend on relatively short notice. In the mean time, we are putting together our list of speakers for the Convention part of the event and we will notify you as we get confirmation. Stay tuned as details are finalized.
The Convention is a fund raiser to pay for the training of the candidates and staff members. If we raise enough money, we intend to offer scholarships for the candidates and staff members who want to go on to Washington, DC after the Convention and go through the full week long Leadership Institute training. We even have a donate link on the order form for those of you who can not attend the Convention but want to help with a scholarship! Everyone who attends is going to hear great speakers and have a great lunch and help us move closer to attaining our goals. Our path is now clear, we need to get on the county and state central committees - for both parties - so we can endorse conservative candidates to get them on the ballot and get them elected. But we need to have candidates to endorse and we need to support them so they can win! That is why we are having the 2014 We the People Convention. I am asking you to please attend, bring a friend and forward this information to everyone you know and to give us your full support!
