This is a fortnightly reading group for students of A Course In Miracles. We start with a short reading from the Course followed by a 5-minute silent meditation. After this we continue reading from the Course, discussing passages and concepts as they come up. We finish with a 5-minute silent meditation.
Timings: doors open at 6.45pm. Aim to arrive by 7pm so that everyone is settled by 7.10pm. The short reading and meditation last until 7.20pm. The group ends at 9pm.
Latecomers: please don't aim to arrive after 7pm unless you've pre-agreed this with Robbie or Eileen. However, if you find you are running late, thank you for keeping us informed (by text/phone/email), and avoid ringing the doorbell between 7.10pm and 7.20pm as this is the time when we will be in meditation and you may not get an immediate answer.
Contacts: Eileen (host/leader):[masked]; Robbie (leader/general info):[masked]; Alex (founder/leader): contact by email as he is currently abroad.
Materials: bring your copy of the Course.
RSVPs: all participants must RSVP on this site in order to join this meetup - Eileen can host a maximum of 10 participants, so to avoid disappointment, please don't turn up unannounced or bring unregistered guests. RSVPs open at 7pm on the preceding Friday (ie. 6 days prior to the group).
Out of consideration to those on the waiting list, amend your RSVP promptly if you or your guest can't make it: this request also applies to members on waiting list.
The waiting list prioritises singles over couples: therefore, if you and your guest are on the waiting list, we recommend that you each sign on as individual members.
Even if you think you are far down the waiting list, be aware that spaces often become available on the day if not before.
Arrived too early (before 6.45pm), or during the meditation (between 7.10 and 7.20pm)? Best not to ring the bell. Porchester Square Gardens and Paddington Library (on Porchester Road) are both pleasant places to wait, both only 2 minutes away.
Should I bring food & drink? Eileen provides water and juice. You are welcome to bring additional treats. Some people like to bring juice, or biscuits, or fruit to share.
No-shows: members who repeatedly fail to turn up without giving reasonable notice may have their membership cancelled.
There is no disabled access.
Security: please ensure you close the doors (street door & flat door) when leaving/entering the property.
Forgiveness at work: The group is an opportunity for members to share their experiences around A Course in Miracles. As such, all individual opinions are valid and should be respected.
And finally: we look forward to seeing you!
