LOOPER @ Arclight Sherman Oaks, Saturday, 9/29, 7:30 PM

What if time travel were possible and you went back and killed your own grandfather? Rian Johnson, director of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's break out movie, Brick, teams up with him again for an interesting riff on this classic time travel paradox: what if you went back in time and killed your younger self? Supported by Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt, trailer #2 looks great, and advance RT buzz is favorable, if that means anything...:)

Tickets are available at Arclight's website. I'm in J12...

No dinner before the movie is planned, but maybe we can hang out afterwards...

Synopsis

In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented - but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" - a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) - is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good... until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe's future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.

I found the movie wildly entertaining and was thoroughly engrossed from beginning to end. Found myself tense through most of it, gasping sometimes, laughing other times. Wonderfully entertaining if you don't analyze the time travel concept too deeply!!!

Well acted, entertaining and thought provoking until it was over. Then, following the provoked thoughts, the enormous logical inconsistencies piled up so quickly that, from a time travel paradox resolving point of view, it may possibly be the worst time travel movie ever made.

Can't make this but even if I could- this is (if I'm not mistaken) going to be the weekend of Carmeggedon II- so Westsiders like me have an obstacle there.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
