Atheists, and people of all belief systems, are welcome to attend.
Pastor Nathan Lewis interviews Tom Gebhardt, a former Christian who became an Atheist years ago and now, this year, has converted to Christian Faith. Tom has participated in the Beaverton Religion Forum these past few years as a presenter of Atheism. The interview, complete with audience participation in Q&A is scheduled for Sunday, November 17.
5:00 p.m. = Pizza and beverages provided to assist us in productive and kind conversations with neighbors holding to various world views.
6:00 p.m. = The interview followed by Q&A
7:30 p.m. = Informal conversations
The Beaverton Religion Forum makes space for neighbors to express their views, opinions and convictions toward the building of kind relationships. The intent of the forum is not to reduce presentations to “we all basically believe the same thing.” The forum helps us to say, “My beliefs are quite different from your beliefs but I would like for us to be good neighbors. I want to understand your views and wish for you to understand my views.”
Here is a debate that Tom (as an atheist) discussed "The Meaning of Life" with fellow atheist Bernie Dehler, at Canby Bible College, on 9-23-11.
