This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Nashville - the only one that gives me "native Thai" when I ask for it. On one of my many call in orders, the chef questioned the staff asking "Is she Asian?" when I placed my native Thai order...
Ginger Thai on Logan Street behind the Phillips 66 on Thompson Lane east of Nolensville Road (across from Action Nissan). It's the side street between Phillips 66 and the Papa John's strip mall. Be careful not to pass the road as it's nestled between two stop lights.
What's your favorite Thai dish? Me? I judge every Thai restaurant by two dishes - their Kaeng Massamun (curry) and Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles).
The staff is very friendly and accomodating. And if you want to do a little shopping before or after, there is an Asian grocery next door. On the other side is a Middle Eastern grocery that carries fresh bread from local Ethiopian and Middle Eastern bakeries. You can cover almost all your culinary desires within a few yards.
