Jamaican: Where else but JamaicaWay (Farmers Market)

There's no limit since there's plenty of seating in the market. The food is AMAZING! I scheduled a little later for those who go to church or like to sleep in.

For those not interested in Jamaican, there's also AM@FM, Green Asia, Swagruha Indian, Chicago Gyro, B&C Market BBQ, El Burrito Mexican, Bella Nashville (wood fired pizza) and The Original Nooley's (Cajun) served in the market.

JamaicaWay

Serves great Jamaican food - jerk chicken (choose mild or "authentic"), Ackee-N-Saltfish, goat, mutton, oxtail (yum) and talapia (or whole Red Snapper) escovich. Veggies include: fried plantains (my fav), sweet potatoes, a variety of greens (collard, mustard, callaloo). They are also very vegetarian friendly with Veggie Fri Chikn with Mango Chutney Sauce, BBQ portobello mushrooms, curry tofu, etc.

All entrees (Meat or Vegetarian) include a choice of any 2 side items, and complimentary Jonny Cake or Cornbread. Don't forget to try the bammy (if available). The Menu can be found at:  http://www.jamaicawaycatering.com/index.html#/restaurantmenu

Save room for dessert and coffee, there's also Buttercake Babe's and Randy's Famous Cheesecake. And walk it off through the market, pick up some veggies and shop Shreeji's International Market.

It was great to meet everyone today! I enjoyed my delicious Jamaican jerk chicken and getting to try ox tail for the first time. :) I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

I had a wonderful time. So glad everyone could make it out and to see so many new faces. We almost shut the place down. It was almost 4pm before the last 8-10 of us left. Great conversations as always.

Oh blighters! I wanted to get there early and hug you for being such a good friend this week. But was an hour behind schedule next time I poked at the clock. Too much concentration in what I was doing without a clock easily around. :-~

Do you how the road are? The area I'm located there is icy patches

Thanks for the heads up, Paige. It is 36 degrees now with a supposed high of 44 today so I think it should be ok. But be safe whatever you decide to do. The weather is a little unpredictable.

JamaicaWay takes debit/credit cards as do all of the other food vendors in the market. But there are a couple ATMs - one being Regions Bank - inside the market house. The majority of the produce vendors also take plastic.

Another FYI from the Nashville Scene: http://www.nashvillescene.com/bites/archives/2013/12/04/first-bite-wild-and-local

Lobster Lunch at Wild & Local, the sustainable fish and meat supplier located in the Nashville Farmers' Market, has started offering sandwiches and other items on a limited lunch menu. They have a Lobster Roll for $10. Read the above link for more info on the offerings.

Just an FYI for an extra food option for the 8th: Riffs will be serving food in the Grow Local Kitchen at the Farmers Market. Not exactly sure what items they will be serving but if I can find it, I will post it. "The Grow Local Kitchen" is the demo kitchen in the middle of the main market house. There are usually different people there on the weekends. http://growlocalkitchen.org/Calendar.html

Hi Rose! There was a problem with the RSVP box it wouldn't let me add a plus one. Doug and I are both coming. Looking forward to joining you all!

No worries. I will try and fix. This is an unlimited event so there is no issue with over crowding. Thanks for the heads up.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
