Vive la France! Chelsea Bistro in Whites Creek

I tried Chelsea Bistro the first week they opened back in August and loved it - of course, I chose the best dish on their menu which was the Parisian Gnocchi with Prawns (everyone agreed). I hear their drinks are amazing...

The first time I had "Boeuf Bourguignon" was I was 14 years ago and had just crossed the border into France from Switzerland. I was not a fan of beef but was BLOWN away. Thirty years later (go ahead, do the math), I still can't forget that dish and have been on a quest to find one that was equally amazing. I am excited to see they have it on their winter menu.

Please note that this place is in Whites Creek but worth the drive - about 14 miles from midtown Nashville (more or less depending on where you live). I scheduled it for a weekend to avoid "rush hour" traffic.

Please only sign up if you are SERIOUS about attending. The reservations have already been made for 12 but they will take more (so I will be watching the interest over the next week). Check will be separate and no gratuity will be added to your check, so please be generous with the staff.

This seasons menu includes: Bouillabaisse, sous vide Monkfish, Boeuf Bourguignon, Cassoulet and the above mentioned Prawns... There is the Polenta Napoleon for vegetarians.

I have been wanting to go to this restaurant for months. My GPS got me lost :-(
I hope you will do it again.

My pics pale in comparison to James' pictures but I figured "the more the merrier" (we're up to 48 food pics). We had a great time. Planning to schedule a Meetup every 3 months to see what their seasonal menu offers.

I love this place, but don't think I'd recommend trying to sit 20 at one table again. Wonderful dining group!

~1 hour separated the 1st & 2nd course. Obviously too much pressure on the kitchen staff. I think tables of 4-6 seatings might be optimal.

I told Rose & Rochelle I thought there might be a sort of "kitchen triage" going on, to try to make our meals come out all as nearly the same time as they could. Tables of 6 is a good idea.

Stunning pictures, James. Now I'm kind of embarrassed to post mine on FB. After all the picture taking, I can't find a pic of my dish on my phone. Figures!

Again! Please update your RSVP if you can't attend. There are still others waiting. Calling in the final count tomorrow.

    Monkfish? *sniff*

I won't know until we're closer to Saturday, and don't want to take a spot from someone who can confirm.

Just had Monkfish at Cafe Margot for brunch yesterday. Yum :)

Heather, Dan, Seth & Jim, the Bistro said I could up the limit to 20 people. I bumped to to "yes" attending.

For everyone, if you're plans have changed, please update ASAP so I can keep the restaurant up to date on the actual number of attendees. This is a slightly more (oh who am I kidding "much more") upscale restaurant than we usually attended, so be considerate of the chef and staff who are preparing to see us on Saturday.

I have a feeling this will be one of our best Meetups yet - and we've had some great ones.

Great, I will be there! Thanks Rose!

Wait listers, please hang in there. I am contacting Chelsea Bistro tomorrow to confirm our reservation and may update to 20 with two smaller tables for better conversation.

For everyone else on the list, please update your RSVP (out of respect to the restaurant and those waiting) if you cannot attend.

    Hi Rose, may I bring a + 1 ?

    January 12, 2014

    • Rose L.

Laurel, I added a plus one for you. For now, I'm going to keep it 16 (or so) until I can talk with the restaurant again.

      January 12, 2014

    • Laurel

      Yea, bouillabaisse!!

Rose, I just realized that I've got something else planned on the 18th, so I won't be coming this time.

Thank you for updating quickly. See you soon.

I just increased the limit to 16 due to the wait list. I probably won't go above this without consulting with the restaurant. If we can fill the place up, that would be awesome!

I'm thrilled at the enthusiasm! Good French food it awesome!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
