Shahia tayebah (Enjoy)! Shish Kabob!

In honor of Bob T who is visiting from Japan, I am scheduling Persian cuisine...

Shish Kabob has been around for about three+ years now and is popular within the Persian community. We last ate here back in January. I'm sure you'll find something to suit your palette. Free apps include pita, feta cheese, parsley with lemon wedges to tide you over until your entree arrives. Think of it as the Persian version of chips and salsa...

Save room for the Persian Milk cake for dessert.

My Arabic is REALLY rusty. My neighbors are from Yemen and I spent many evenings (a couple years back) in their home teaching their children English and was forced to learn a few useful Arabic phrases in order to communicate with them.

Plus, I got some awesome meals and exclusive invites to Ramadan dinners out of it. My fondest memory is sitting on the floor with the kids sharing "saltah" (the national dish of Yemen) from the same communal pot.

Useful Arabic:

Hello! Welcome!                         Ahlan! (or) Marhaban

Hi!                                            Salam!

Thank You (Very Much)!             Shukran (jazeelan)

You're Welcome!                       Al’afw

Good Afternoon/ Evening!  Masaa el kheer

Good Bye!                                Ma’a salama

I Really Like It!                          A’jabanee haqqan!

I'm Hungry/ I’m Thirsty.             Ana jae’/ ana ‘atshaan

As always, amazing pictures, James! You actually captured a couple shots of Jim with his mouth closed.

Looks like you will need to bring your camera, as I'm not signed up for the next 3 events.

100% attendance! THANK YOU to everyone who showed up. So many organizers complain about attendance so I love it when I hit that 100%, sometimes 100%+ when people like Jim crash it. A big welcome to Bob, our out of town visitor, who is officially the newest member. It was great to see everyone.
