So we scouted the restaurant during the house party and it seems perfect for a meetup. The owners and workers were VERY friendly and accommodating. They said anytime we are welcome. Now for some Shabu Shabu. A couple members requested a weekend since rush hour makes it difficult to get to Antioch. Also, check out traditional Thai items on the menu. I'm thinking 3 smaller tables of 6 people for ease of conversation.
Shabu-shabu is a Japanese dish. The term is derived from the sound emitted when the ingredients are stirred in the cooking pot. The dish is related to sukiyaki in style: Both consist of thinly sliced meat and vegetables and served with dipping sauces. However, Shabu-shabu is considered to be more savory and less sweet than sukiyaki.

From I-24:
Take Haywood Lane exit off I-24, go east (or left if coming from the north). Turn right onto Antioch Pike. Go about one block to next red light and turn left onto Richards Road. Shabu Shabu House is located in the strip center immediately to the left after turning.

I just bumped the wait listers up to going. I know it's last minute and I apologize. Please update if you can't attend so I can update the seating for the restaurant when I arrive. Thank you!

Hey everyone. Shabu Shabu House wants to know if you prefer the shabu shabu for tomorrow or if you plan to order off the regular Thai menu. If you get a chance tonight, please reply to this post or send me a private Meetup message to avoid filling up everyone's inbox. I'm not familiar with shabu shabu other than it should feed multiple people so you may want to couple or triple up with others and share. Again, please update your RSVP. I had two no-shows today - never a good thing if people are on the wait list to go. Be kind!

Again, Meetup is full with a large wait list. Please, as always, update your RSVP if you can't attend. Please do so timely so those on the wait list can attend. Thank you!

I do know there is a Japanese restaurant in Brentwood that does it as well.

Just a reminder that this event is on "Superbowl Sunday" so if it conflicts with your party plans, please update your RSVP so others on the wait list can attend.
