Real South China style food, but it does not exist in Nashville. In Nashville, any restaurant labeled "ethnic" from S. America, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.
In Nashville - Kien Giang, SDG Tofu House, Woodlands Vegetarian Indian and House of Kabob in no particular order. Bethel would have been on the list but it closed. Aleksey's for Eastern European goodies. In Boston - Super 88 Asian Food Court on Commonwealth Ave. In NYC - Jing Fong Dim Sum (wow). In L.A. - Ranch 99 Asian Food. In Chicago - Tony's Hot Beef. In Oak Ridge - Homeland Cafe for real Polish food.
Recently - cow brains in France, and other organ meats I am unclear of the translation. Tripe, fermented slightly stinky tofu, chicken feet, tendons, and other "throw away parts" in various Chinatowns on the West and East Coasts of the USA.
Hi Rose, what a great idea for a group! I love ethnic foods of all kinds.
Hey, the taco truck tour of Nolensville Rd was fun. Here is my food blog post about it. http://lannaelong.blogspot.com/2010/06/nolensville-rd-taco-truck-tour-1.html
