This group is meant to fill the surprising dearth of regularly meeting pagan/wiccan groups in the Berkeley/Oakland area.

We celebrate and practice some of the cultural traditions of Celtic and Gaelic origin, including gaining a better understanding of nature by exploring seasonal change. Once enough people join, I hope to find a monthly meeting time that works for everyone. During our meetings we will engage in creative self expression, discuss what we are learning, create seasonal arts and crafts, and exchange seasonal recipes and dishes. We may also have additional meetings near Sabbats or full moons for festival and ritual for those who are interested.

This group is not necessarily a religious group, although religion may sometimes be discussed. Rather, it is open to anyone of any religion who loves nature and is interested in exploring these cultural traditions.

One of my aims is to provide a meeting place for UC Berkeley students who identify as Wiccan or pagan. Wiccans and pagans are an underrepresented and often ostracized group. UC Berkeley believes in supporting cultural diversity and will likely allow this group to become an official student organization.
