Whoa, the holiday weekend is here and I've noticed my activity calendar has a hole in it. And since Julie McCoy is nowhere in sight to plan my fun I'm going to have to figure this one out myself. I'm feeling mellow and nothing compliments a mellow mood better than some smooth reggae. Join me as I cycle out to Coney Island to check out the kickoff of the 2013 Coney Island Reggae on the Boardwalk series.
What's dat? It's the brainchild of radio host Carter Van Pelt, a summer time series of FREE, daylong Sunday events featuring reggae DJs playing through a "yard-style" sound system on the historic boardwalk at Coney Island. The crowd is chill, the music is delicious enough to make you sway, and the sun and sand are our backdrop. What more do you need?
Check out the kickstarter effort to keep these events rolling HERE and if you feel so inclined make a donation to the cause.
There's no cue sheet for this ride. I'll be moving as the wind blows so make sure you keep me in sight.
