This is a social group dedicated to exploring all the strange, obscure, weird, wild, absurd, bizarre, avant garde, unconventional places and events that Melbourne has to offer.
BEWARE! This ain't no brunch club. There will be NO trivia nights at the local RSL. This group is not for the faint of heart - it is for people who are fun, adventurous, and ready to hit their wild button. All ages (18+), all genders, all sexual orientations, all types - anyone who wants to explore an alternative, bohemian, experimental, wild-at-heart side of Melbourne is welcome!
We want this to be the place where everyone can just come as they are and mingle with people who are like them AND who are NOT like them. Let your hair down! Go wild! Be open minded, be non-judgmental, expand yourself, challenge yourself and, most importantly, BE yourself.
"And now," cried Max, "let the wild rumpus start!" - Maurice Sendak, Where the Wild Things Are
We understand that not everyone is up for everything. Events will therefore be held with varying levels of "wild" - Green Events (there will be lots of these), Yellow Events (there will be a few of these) and Red Events (these will happen occasionally).
• Green Events (alternative but "mild wild" romps) - funky hidden bars, avant garde exhibitions, bohemian music venues, culinary adventures, innovative performance art, gothic night markets, etc.
• Yellow Events (might be a little raunchy, risqué, strange or a little daring) - events involving something explicit which "may offend some viewers" such as burlesque shows, comedy acts, controversially themed films, or occasions which are just somewhat... you know... odd.
• Red Events (for the very wild and daring) - body art, polar bear plunges, fetish/BDSM clubs, audience participation events, or other potentially full-on stuff we haven't even thought of yet!
WHERE WE DRAW THE LINE: There will be NO drugs and NO weird sex parties. Artistic nudity, getting a little raunchy, or having some fun at a fetish club is one thing - but that's as far as it goes! We will not be doing anything illegal, or going anywhere which places people in real danger. All attendees are expected to be respectful towards others, and to be responsible for their own behaviour.
