Parent Nutrition Support Group

Heather Metz and I are planning to launch a support group for parents interested feeding their children and families better.

We will have an "interest meeting" on November 15th for parents to meet each other and participate in making decisions in how we will operate.

For a dynamic group, we will be seeking diversity among the specific issues and needs of parents. But we also have some preferences that will add to group cohesion, such as the following:

-- parents who will be active in the group, suggesting topics, videos, and other links that the group might want to read

-- parents who have children with issues, health or otherwise

-- parents who will be able to attend 2/3rds of the meetings for a year or so.

Attendance on Nov 15th is not a commitment, but rather a show of interest.

    Dear Heather,
I probably cannot come as I have other plans now. I would like to get involved with you although my kids are now in their 20s (only wish I had know when they were younger. I was very amazed at the talk you gave at the church a few weeks ago and wanted to go to the meeting at Marshall HS, had dates wrong. You are really onto something with the schools. You can email me at [masked]. I also remember speaking to you once and you said that "pink slime" is the least of the bad things the use in schools! Since we are so close to DC, your force could become powerful.
