Combine history with geography on this lovely walk. We will meet at Killiney Dart Station and stroll across the beach, and UP Killiney Hill, taking in the views from the wonderful obelisk (1741) and head over to Dalkey Quarry. We will then follow the path of the "Metals" from the quarry down to Dun Laoghaire to Haigh Terrace, home of the Mariner's Church and the National Maritime Museum of Ireland. Here we will have a tour, guided by Eoghan Ganley, one of the founders of this wonderful museum. Tea/coffee and scones will be served in the museum to help us recover from all the exertion! We ca then return to Killiney via the nearby Dart or those full of energy can walk some of the way back....!! A charge of €15 applies which covers the walk, entry to the museum and tea and scones.
