A Taste of the Caribbean

I lived in the Caribbean for almost four years and this very small restaurant is owned by a cute old couple that came from Guyana and makes traditional Caribbean food. Braised Oxtail, Roti, Jerk Chcken, Stewed Goat to name a few of the wonderful dishes. This is a very small restaurant, only sits 45 max so I am going to limit this to 15. If there is a wait list might bring it to 20. This is a great place. Nothing fancy but really tasty.

My hats off to the organizers of any meet-up. You are doing a great job. I have not had any event that wasn't absolutely great. From the place, the food and the people. I only co-organized one event and there are a bunch of whiners and cry babies. For all you, I have a thought: Organize an event and experience the bitching.

I'm with Julia: when your menu says plantains are served with _every_ meal, and you're out, and you're expecting 20-odd diners, you can darn well send someone to the market to get some. And when ox tail is one of the favorite dishes at your restaurant, you shouldn't be out of them on a Friday night. That said, it's not Wayne's fault (and Julia didn't say it was), the food was good, and I'd say the restaurant was a good choice. I was going to Yelp it at "3" for the omissions, but then the little old grandmother-cook wandered out of the kitchen as I was paying my bill, and I didn't have the heart to do it. But I definitely agree with Julia.

So nice to meet you Wayne, taking on a job of organizer is a challenge. You have such an interesting background, I really enjoyed what you shared of your experiences. Looking forward to hearing more. Also nice to meet new faces to the group, nice and fun people. My first experience of Caribbean food (so difficult to rate); fun and some was better than other (tasting other's food). Glad I went to experience it and we had a decent show up, thanks Wayne for all your effort to make this successful! Looking forward to future dining experiences!

With a large group advance reservation, I would have hoped the restaurant could be well-stocked on their menu items and sides and not run out. I didn't get my oxtail or plantains. Boo Hoo.

Hi ya'll. Looking forward to having a great time next Friday. Unlike most restaurants cash or charge is ok. So you do not have to worry about cash if that is a problem. Have table to 20 reserved and looking forward to having an irie time!

I hate to have to post this but please if you say Yes to the event please show up. This restaurant is a small 45 seat restaurant so we are going to be taking up half of the restaurant on a Friday night.
