Rancocas Re-Forge

Forge On: To move steadily ahead. Which is what I am hoping you will join me doing in the colds of a January morn(!) We will check on the state of edibles and interests in the environs of the Rancocas Creek basin yet again... Along the way I hope we all share perspectives and enjoy the company. For directions or questions, please reach out to me at [masked] or at[masked]-9212.

It was a wonderful day! Rancocas Nature Center provided a wonderful hike with beautiful views and much to see and learn. The Organic Green Cafe was a wonderful treat. Not only did I get meet old acquaintances (Carole and Bill) from when I was a child, but the homemade soup, bread, dessert, and marigold tea were fabulous!! I hope we do this again!!!! :)

Is there parking? I've never been there and the map does not show. How will I know you?

There is parking at the Nature Centet. I will be in parking lot.

Jo, if you asking if there is parking at the Rancocas Creek basin, the last time I was there , there was plenty of parking. If you're asking if there is parking at the Green Cafe....again, affirmative....plenty...bring a friend. I have the Organic beef vegetable soup hot, and I can do a vegetarian Red Cabbage soup if need be. The home made garlic bread is in the rising rack now and will be hot for lunch. Dessert is a cream cheese covered Organic Banana Cake or Organic Apple Betty Or Organic Pumpkin Coffee Cake. Hope to see you guys so you can educate me about what you found. Hopefully by spring my ACL will be better and I can do rough grassy areas to join you.

First wild foodies event for me... I am looking forward to it! I have been on a tour or two with Steve Brill and I have done a far amount of foraging homework on my own, but my winter foraging skills could use a little help. So glad to have something in Jersey!

Hi Joe! I'm excited you are doing this again. So is the plan to meet up at the Rancocas Audubon Nature Center at 10:00 am? I can't wait to see you and catch up.

Thanks again, Jesse! You'll like this one - stark contrast with the last trip I led out here in July. If you know the route to my place instead, I will be leaving the driveway at 157 Hickory Street, Mount Holly at 9:4 am if you want to link Up.

Yes it's cold out there, folks, but consider this a mobile discussion in a nature preserve capped off with a good meal afterwards when we travel to Carole's. You'll get perspectives on ecology, land management, organic practices, sustainability and seasonal challenges to foraging. Come on out. You won't be disappointed. In fact, call me on my cell,[masked]-9212. I'd be happy to engage the discussion over that channel as well.

I'm still holding Feb 1 open for the Foodies to have Free Soup and Home made bread as my guest...just let me know if they are coming when it gets close so I can make enough bread...OrganicGreenCafe www.whitebriarbedandbreakfast.com[masked]-9555. I'd love to hear from Lynn Landes. I sent her a couple e mails but they bounced back.
