Thanks for the great list.  I'd like to add a resource I find very useful:  www.herbmentor.com,  run by one of the creators of Wilderness Awareness School's Kamana:  Naturalist Training Program (excellent), and featuring a lot of excellent on-line references and contributions from many noted herbalists.

Mark.

Subject: [Wild-Foodies-of-Philly] Here's our recommended "Medicinal" book list!

I want to thank Tiffany Robbins, Hugh Brenner, and Sarah Gabriel for their recommendations on medicinal plant books.  Here's the list, which I've also put up on www.WildFoodies.org:
  • A Field Guide to Medicinal Plants and Herbs: Of Eastern and Central North America (Peterson Field Guides) by Steven Foster, James A. Duke and Roger Tory Peterson
  • Adaptogens: Herbs for Strength, Stamina, and Stress Relief by David Winston and Steven Maimes
  • Rosemary Gladstar's Medicinal Herbs: A Beginner's Guide: 33 Healing Herbs to Know, Grow, and Use by Rosemary Gladstar
  • Backyard Medicine: Harvest and Make Your Own Herbal Remedies by Julie Bruton-Seal and Matthew Seal
  • http://shop.nationalgeographic.com/ngs/category/books
Thanks again!
Lynn
