Re: [Wild-Foodies-of-Philly] Cheryl's apple tree needs harvesting

That is incredibly cool. I added a few West Philly trees, and I hope everyone will add more. Perhaps the bitter lemon trees and the wineberries we've been talking about?

The selection of trees seems a bit odd - maybe it's West Coast-oriented. Serviceberries and pears have to be entered as "other." But I love that cherry plums are a default choice!

There is another yellow apple tree dropping at Rt 73/Hylton RD, behind the McDonalds.  One can stand on the parkinglot, driveway, and I can't see why one can't pick them.

When you choose not to choose, you have still made a choice.

Sorry for the delay in responding to this.  Last year I went to a cider making event with a traditional wood press, that was run by Elyssa Serrilli.  This is her contact info.

Speaking of apples, does anyone know where a person can get a cider press?

Hi Wild Foodies - A member asked me to let you all know that she's got an apple tree that needs harvesting.  Although this isn't exactly wild food, per se, what the heck.  She's a member who's got excess apples.  You can contact her at [address removed] if you have questions.
"I have a Golden Delicious apple tree which is bearing a bumper crop this year. I have picked all I can process and there are a lot left. I would welcome people who would like to come and pick their own. It is in Philadelphia, near City Line and the Overbrook Station. If you send me a text at two-one-five[masked], I can give you further directions. This is a standard tree which means climbing a ladder, but I can leave one out. I never spray the tree with anything, so some of the fruits are blemished, and lots of them you have to cut out the middles, but that is just how nature does it. Cheryl"
