THIS NORTH BAY HIKE will explore the often diverse & picturesque environs of Marin County’s Samuel P. Taylor State Park. Expect a full-on-day-of-hiking-fun & excitement as we experience such "action packed" highlights as: STAIRSTEP FALLS, MT. BARNABE, KENT LAKE & THE BAY AREA RIDGE TRAIL!

Distance: 13-14 Miles.
Pace: 2.5-3 MPH.
Difficulty: Strenuous (for CONDITIONED hikers.)
Hike Time: 6-7 hrs. Fees: $2 cash.

WHAT TO BRING: Sturdy hiking shoes, WARM, layered clothing, wind gear Lunch, Hat, Gloves, Headlamp, 2-3 liters of water, $2 cash.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Fit hikers who can handle a 14 mile hike with 2500+ft. of elevation gain. This hike is for hikers who want to spend
a long day outdoors. Additionally, to attend members must answer the RSVP questions.
HOW TO ATTEND: If you would like to attend this hike sign up like any other hike but make sure to answer the RSVP questions. Attendance on this hike is reserved for members "on the YES list."
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THIS HIKE: Hike will commence at approximately the posted start time. Hike will average a speed of 2.5 to 3 mph. Hike leader will occasionally call breaks including a 20 to 30 minute lunch break. Hike is a group effort so all participants are required to stay with the group & wait at ALL trail junctions.

DIRECTIONS:From U.S. 101 Going North (7.5 miles North of the Golden Gate Bridge) take the Sir Francis Drake Boulevard exit west toward San Anselmo, then drive about 15 miles (through the towns of Ross, Fairfax and Lagunitas) to the signed entrance to Samuel P. Taylor State Park’s campground. Don’t turn here; continue on Sir Francis Drake Boulevard for another mile and park in the dirt pullout across the road from Devil’s Gulch Horse Camp.
RESPONSIBILITY: Please be aware that we expect you to take responsibility for your safety while we are out on the trails. This means arriving ON TIME to leave with the group, being prepared with adequate hiking gear, hike fee and making sure the difficulty level of the event IS NOT beyond the limits of your health & conditioning. In addition, please show COURTESY to fellow members by changing your **YES* RSVP to a **NO** if your plans change. **IMPORTANT** Members who regularly sign-up for events, but who DO NOT show-up, may be removed from the list, to make room for more reliable members.
