Wilderness Awareness And Survival Skills in Denver Pages

Hello and Welcome to Wilderness Awareness and Survival Skills in Denver!

My name is Andrew. My goal for this group is to help people understand and find relationships with nature. I like to teach how to build habits of awareness that reveal the complex relationships of our environment. I also teach classes on primitive skills such as fire-by-friction, stone tools, tracking, finding shelter, finding and cleaning water, wild edibles, containers, hunting weapons, traps, bird language and much more. I have recently started intensifying teaching these classes. If you have any suggestions for anything you would like to do or learn, please feel free to send me an e-mail.

Much of my employment has been in Natural Resource Management. Currently, I work for Denver Parks and Recreation as a Natural Resource Specialist, with a diverse workload from Pena Blvd Open Space (near DIA), to Echo Lake.

I am from Indiana, where I studied for three years with an experienced student of Tom Brown named Kevin. I am also studying Kamana, a program that combines a native and ecological perspective to hone the art of questioning. What I learned from Kevin and Kamana have allowed me to understand the natural patterns of Colorado fluently through research, journaling, observation, and other core routines that I hope to share with you.
