Have you ever wondered what you would do if you or someone in your group was injured on a hike, backpack or climbing trip where calling 911 is simply not an option?
Urban first aid courses cover what to do in the minutes before the Emergency Medical Services arrive and have limited application in wilderness emergencies.
The Wilderness First Aid Course (WFAC) teaches the skills essential to managing trauma or medical emergencies in a WILDERNESS environment. We have trained hikers, backpackers, climbers, guides, trip leaders and other wilderness adventurers since 1978.
The WFAC is based in the greater Los Angeles area and classes are taught in the Mt. Baldy area. WFAC is an educational non-profit (501c3) corporation. We are run by an all volunteer staff which allows us to keep tuition fees low.
***** In order to attend our courses you must submit an application by mail. *****
Meetup RSVP's gives us information about your interest in the course but does NOT save you a spot in the course.

Group notifications: We teach two 3 Day courses per year so you will not get a lot of "Event" emails & other spam directly from us. The notifications you get from us will depend on the email settings you have selected for your Meetup profile and the specific notification settings you choose for the Wilderness First Aid Course.
I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
