CHANGED: Sunrise in Richmond Park

Richmond Park is a gorgeous nature area with lots and lots of wildlife... I'd like to invite you for a sunrise visit to the park, with possibilities of getting some great shots of fallow and red deer in the mist, little owls, geese, ringnecked parakeets and much more.

Sunrise will be at 7.22 this day, so lets meet up at the Richmond Gate at around 6.30 so we can get to the pond at around sunrise. (We can also meet at Richmond station at 6.00 for those who are not sure how to get to the park)
After sunrise we can wander a bit more and maybe end our morning with a nice hearty breakfast at one of the pubs in Richmond.

It will be early and probably very cold so wear something warm!

Cost will only be the travel to the gate and whatever you might spend on breakfast/drinks.

Important change: this event will start at 9.00 am and will not be at sunrise. I will try to arrange a new meet soon for the sunset one... this will probably be in the second half of December.

We can still see lots of animals and at least will have a very nice walk.

Sorry I didn't meet up with you guys on the day. Was able to get in at around 8am and walked around and took some amazing shots. If I am permitted, can I post some of my images on here?

Guys... great to see you're so enthousiastic, but the meet-up can't be done at 6... as there's culling season and therefore the park is not open....

Also, I suddenly have to work tomorrow morning... gutted, and very irritated, but it's unfortunately something I can't do anything about... So if someone wants to take over and lead the group I'd be very grateful....

Or we could change this to an end of day event... I know we'll have to be out of the park by dusk, but we definitely will be able to check out the creatures coming out for the night already... Please let me know per comment what you prefer!

Hey guys, was at Richmond Park this morning and silly me, I'd forgotten all about the culling season... basically this means that starting 4 November all gates to the park are closed until 9.00.... Darn my memory.... Anyway... we'll have to postpone the early bird visit. We can still have the visit on this date but then as a normal walk around the park.... Let me know what you want to do...

Hi Lisa, the park officially opens to motorised vehicles from 7.30, but the pedestrian gates are always open, just set to a double gate system that makes sure the deer cannot escape... So we're fine with getting to the park on time. It's just that you cannot drive into the park at that time.

I think the park now open's at 7.30am, due to the change in season. Can you check and confirm?

Yes, sorry changed that.... Meet-up doesn't accept 6 am, so had to put it in manually!! Thanks!!
