Like most, I would hope to connect with others with similar interests. I find I learn from everyone I shoot with and hope everyone I shoot with learns something from me, as well. I would also be happy to put down the camera and put on the teaching hat and act as a mentor for any beginner/intermediate members (preferably Nikon types. I'm not prejudice, but my speaking Canon is broken and barely readable at best!)
I am definitely *not* a portrait/wedding/studio/product guy. I can do it, but it just doesn't bring me any joy! I love the outdoors, landscape, wildlife thing. Also love to teach!
I am a Nikon guy. Latest entry is a D3s (which I LOVE!). I also still carry a D300 as a back-up and for times (with lots of light) when I can use a telephoto and wide-angle cued up together. My D70 mostly collects dust these days buy I vow to get it converted to IR someday! I carry what some call the "holy trinity", 14-24mm, 24-70mm and[masked]mm VRII all f/2.8. Also have the TC-20E III teleconverter, the 105mm Macro, a 10.5mm Fisheye and a 50mm f/1.4 and 85m f/1.8. All normally sits atop a Manfrotto 055CXPRO4 tripod and Manfrotto 410 Junior geared pan/tilt head. I edit in LR4 (still on the fence between straight upgrade and the "creative cloud") and CS6.
I'm not opposed but I don't think this would be my forte'. I'm more interested in the opportunity to teach classes and/or act as a mentor for beginner/intermediate members.
I am a semi-retired, overly-technical, frequently creatively challenged, outdoor/landscape/wildlife photographer. I love to travel (although I don't really care for airplanes or airports!), I always try to improve my work and love to help others.
