Making Magick Incense - Corvallis

Join us for a fun-filled time making natural incense. Do your friends complain that the incense you burn bothers their allergies or gives them headaches? Has someone told you that incense making is difficult? Do you think it’s too time consuming? Have you never even thought about making your own incense?

It’s time for you to come and visit! Llewellyn author Carl Neal leads this 2 hour workshop and will guide you through making your own sticks, cones, and moist incense from completely natural ingredients. Carl is the author of Incense: Crafting & Use of Magickal Scents (Llewellyn) , The Magick Toolbox (Weiser) , and Incense Magick (Llewellyn) . He will guide you through the process of incense making from fresh herb to final incense. Sticks, cones, coils, cylinders, moist incense (nerikoh, dhoop) , and more will be discussed. Learn what’s in that incense you’ve been buying in the store and the drawbacks and benefits to different types of charcoal.

Everyone who attends will get to roll their own incense from natural woods, herbs, and more. No synthetic fragrances or other artificial ingredients are used. Everyone also gets a great instructional booklet to take home so none of the recipes from the workshop are lost. The second batch of incense we will make is moist incense that uses honey as a binder. You will amaze your friends and yourself with the incredible scent from your first batch of moist incense.

This workshop is informative and entertaining. The bad part is that the 2 hours fly by so fast that it’s hard to see the workshop end. No matter what your path or spirituality, this workshop offers incredible energy for you and those around you. Just beware – incense making can be highly addictive. Come get addicted with your friends! Remember, incense making is almost exactly like baking, only you never gain any weight.

Cost is $20 per person (discounts for Co-Op members)
