Biking - Fern Ridge Path to Meadowlark Prairie

There is a great bike path on the west end of Eugene, out by the wetlands heading towards Fern Ridge Lake.  The bike path is very flat, smooth, and reasonably lit. The ride crosses the Amazon Creek and has amazing views of the wetlands and parts of the South Hills. Once on the bike path, there are no worries of cars and traffic.

I live nearby and plan on meeting in the parking lot of Albertson's, on the corner of Royal and Danebo, near the gas station and little coffee shop. Not at the Chevron.

Route: From Albertson's parking lot we will head south along Danebo towards Roosevelt. We will turn right onto Roosevelt and follow the provided bike lane out to the Fern Ridge Path. Once there, we will be able to ride along the path without the worries of cars and traffic. We will ride out to the Meadowlark Prairie parking lot along Green Hill, take a short breather and head back the way we came. The route is about 5 miles total and flat. Great for an evening bike ride.

On the map link below, "A" is Albertson's and "B" is the start of the bike path.  The bike path is the small white lines to the left of "B".

Someone stole my bike last night, from my carport. Please be on the lockout for a silver women's 10-speed Raleigh. Has/had upright handlebars, fenders, big black comfy seat, and a black metal basket, behind the seat. Also, my headlamp was on it, plus a headlight, a tail-light, and a behind-the-seat pouch with pump, accessories.....

Sorry to hear about your bike. Please post the information also on the Facebook page, and hopefully someone has seen it.

I rode out there this Saturday to see how long it would take me. It is over a 2 hour round trip. I can't leave work that early. I have to take a rain check on the bike rides unit next year when the day get longer.

These will most likely be the last few bike rides for the year. I might add some on weekends though. The path is close to my house and thought I'd do a different route for a few of the evening rides.

I work too late in the evenings to attend these. Darn it!
