Hiking - Mount Pisgah

A great hike close to Eugene that offers a gradual climb and some scenic views of the Willamette Valley.

Trail Info: The main trail is 3.0 miles round trip and has an elevation gain of 1000'. In comparison to Spencer Butte, which is 2.32 miles round trip with 800' of elevation gain.

Details: We will meet at the main trail, next to the gate and kiosk. We will hike up together, take some pictures at the top, and then head back down. Parking at Mount Pisgah is $4 per car, and an annual permit is available at REI, Bi-Mart, as well as other local outdoor stores. The permit also covers other parks in Lane County. Great purchase if you hike often.

Please dress accordingly and bring water, a snack, and small pack. Bring a friend if you would like.  Dogs are welcome, if on leash.

I thought this hike was every week. my knee is much better and I thought this would be a good starter for the season.

No. I plan out various hikes, walks, and bike rides on Thursday evenings.

I love this event. Just was at LCC earlier today working out, so to drive across town again to workout would be a stretch for me. Thanks! I'll try to make one soon. ;)

I won't be able to attend. I got scheduled for some work out of state for a few days, after I had scheduled this event. I hope people still go and have a great hike. I'll be back April 6th.

If I weren't going to be out of town, I'd join this hike. For those who don't mind getting their boots muddy and want something a bit more adventurous than the gravel road to the top via Trail #1, I highly recommend Trail 35 to #3, then Stairway to Heaven Trail to the summit. Slippery and muddy in spots at this time of year, so bring the hiking sticks. Also, if you become a member of Friends of Mt. Pisgah and Buford Park, the $40 annual donation includes the parking pass good at all Lane County Parks for a year.

I tend to take the Theodore Trail up and back. There are several others I also enjoy. Thanks for the suggestions. What all is included in the $40 donation to Friends of Buford, as I know an annual pass is just $20?

The annual Lane County parking pass fee has recently increased to $40. The Friends organization gets a little that goes towards trail maintenance, habitat enhancement, etc. I think members also get free or reduced price admission to the annual wildflower and mushroom festivals.
