Biking - Willamette River Trail

Eugene has a scenic bike trail that runs along the Willamette's bank on both sides. It makes for a fun filled and scenic loop that is flat and enjoyable for everyone. We will meet at the bridge between Maurie Jacobs Park and Valley River Center. It is located behind the mall's movie theater. Maurie Jacobs Park is also accessible from River Road, near Railroad Blvd., for those of you possibly coming from the west. We will then ride along the north bank, through Alton Baker Park, out past the bridge that crosses by Autzen Stadium, and finally reaching Knickerbocker Bridge, near the I-5 overpass.  The loop will make for about a 8 mile ride. Option for a longer ride is also available.

Please be sure to bring a headlamp, or a bike light, for the evening bike rides, and try to wear something reflective.  Also, bring water and possibly a light jacket.

Stopping off at Hop Valley, in Eugene, afterwards has become a bit of a regular routine now. So, grab your bike, your friends, and a few bucks, and come join us for an evening bike ride and a beer.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
