Biking - Willamette River Trail

Eugene has a scenic bike trail that runs along the Willamette's bank on both sides. It makes for a fun filled and scenic loop that is flat and enjoyable for everyone. We will meet at the bridge between Maurie Jacobs Park and Valley River Center. It is located behind the mall's movie theater. Maurie Jacobs Park is also accessible from River Road, near Railroad Blvd., for those of you possibly coming from the west. We will then ride along the north bank, through Alton Baker Park, out past the bridge that crosses by Autzen Stadium, and finally reaching Knickerbocker Bridge, near the I-5 overpass.  The loop will make for about a 8 mile ride. Option for a longer ride is also available.  Stopping off at Hop Valley afterwards, is a great way to end the evening too.

Please be sure to bring a headlamp, or a bike light, for the evening bike rides, and try to wear something reflective.  Also, bring water and possibly a light jacket.

Hi Matt. Kris, Allen and I had a nice ride around the river trail. Sorry you couldn't make it.

I'm glad all of you enjoyed the bike ride. The flat tire threw me off today. Yet, we got a lot done on the new deck before it got dark.

I will not be making it tonight. A flat tire on my car has set my schedule for today back a bit. Working on building a deck, and won't be done in time. Sorry for any inconvenience to others. Enjoy the bike ride!

ok Matt, so will be at this one. Do you believe me? Know the path well, so see you there. Great ride. Hope the weather isn't overly wet.

    Hi Matthew,
I will try to make this ride. I do a Fox Hollow/McBeth loop on Tuesday's after work and thought it would be fun to add the river loop as an extension to my ride. I'm not sure of the timing though so didn't want to RSVP and then not make it in time. It seems like 7 will work - but if I'm not there, don't wait up! Julie (let me know if you want me to RSVP anyway and I will)

RSVP's are closed. Do you limit it to 6?

No. I'm not sure why it did that. Sometimes the site acts up. Thanks for catching that. I only close RSVPs for weekend trips. It allows me to check who is going in the morning, or late at night, without any last second changes or answering questions.

Pollen counts still too high, and meditation night. Enjoy!
