Camping - Beverly Beach State Park

  • Nov 16, 2012 · 6:00 PM

Come enjoy a weekend of camping, hiking, beach combing, campfires, s'mores, good food, and good friends. I plan on staying Friday and Saturday night. Please take a moment to read all of the information before you sign up.

Beverly Beach State Park is located 7 miles north of Newport, just off HWY 101. They have 53 full hookup, 75 electrical, 128 tent sites, and 21 yurts available to choose from. The campground is in a forested surrounding with Spencer Creek running along the camp, before it crosses under the highway along a foot path and spills into the ocean. Sandy beaches are just a short walk from camp. Yaquina Head, and the Oregon Coast Aquarium are just a few minutes away as well.

Prices: Tent Site - $17, Full Rate - $22, Electrical/Water Hookup - $23, Yurt - $40, Extra Vehicle - $5, Group Tent Site - $55.

Reservations: http://www.reserveamerica.com/campgroundSearchResult.do?context=CampingSpot&topTabIndex=CampingSpot

Tent sites allow for up to 8 people, making it just over $2 a person per night. We can arrange for a few sites, or if some would like to go in on renting a yurt, they can do that as well. We can check in to our sites anytime after 4:00PM. So an evening arrival on Friday night will work out well.

I would like to do a potluck dinner for Saturday, so please indicate what you would like to contribute. Ideas include, but are not limited to - burgers, hot dogs, brats, chili, soups, sandwich wraps, salads, breads, vegetables, hummus, and a wide variety of drinks. Also, we usually have a tradition of doing a group breakfast together. If you are interested in doing that, please let me know.

A fun and enjoyable weekend together at the coast. The yurt was very nice. Warm, cozy, and round. I had a great time playing board games, good conversations and enjoying good food with everyone. Was good to meet some new people as well. I would like to do this again sometime.

I had great time camping in the yurt, even though it rained all weekend, the company was great.

I will be at Target shortly after Katie arrives from Corvallis. I will be in the parking lot near the entrance closest to the corner of West 11th and Beltline.

I'm mostly loaded up now. I work until 4:30, then need to cash my paycheck, get gas, and load the last few things along with Katie's gear. I should be at Target on time. My cell phone number is (541)[masked] if anyone is running late or just wants to meet at camp.

I'll be driving myself up. I'm not sure what time I will be done at work. I got me a tent site to stay in.

I am providing transportation for myself, Michael McDowell, and BW. Ryan will be driving himself (since he's coming from Corvallis). My car will probably be full up as well. Given that there are only 4 of us in my yurt, and it sleeps 8, I am sure we can find room for Michael Taylor if he didn't already reserve his own space.

I'm going to try and get all of Katie and my stuff into my car. By doing so, I most likely will not have room for any other passengers. I apologies for that, but I need to make sure I can also get my gear there. Katie and I are willing to offer our yurt to use for gathering for meals and board game playing, but would appreciate our privacy for the weekend as well. I hope that is understandable by others.

I'm going to be bringing a few board games and card games to play. I will be picking up items for making a crock pot meal to share on Saturday evening. We can plan out together some meals if others are interested.

Still thinking of going? We currently have two yurts rented.

There should be quite a bit of room for others in the two yurts, or at nearby camping spots. We plan on a fun time of good food, time on the beach, board games, possible trip into Newport, and much more. Don't miss out on this fun weekend of camping.

I rented a yurt for both nights. It sleeps 8, but I am not bring anyone with me. So if anyone wants to come but isn't sure about reserving a camp spot or would just prefer a yurt I'm happy to share. Just let me know.
