I enjoy backpacking a lot. The simple pleasure of hiking several miles to a mountain lake and finding the perfect spot to set up camp. I also love soaking at the hot springs.
Just about anywhere in the Cascades. I've done quite a few, but I mostly enjoy trails that have a waterfall or two to see. My top three are Opal Creek, Green Lakes Trail connected to the Soda Creek Trail, and the trail along Rosary Lakes to the summit of Maiden Peak.
One of my favorite spots is one that is between Upper and Middle Rosary Lake. It's one that you have to backpack in to, but is so worth it. Amazing views of two lakes, and Pulpit Rock. Another favorite is several spots throughout the area around Green Lakes.
My assortment of backpacks. I really enjoy my REI Flash 22 pack for day hikes and mountain biking. For longer day hikes that may need more gear, I have an Osprey Kestrel 48. My multiple day backpack is an Osprey Aether 60. Also, my MSR Ascent snowshoes, and my ENO DoubleNest Hammock.
Yes, I have. I have a profile picture of myself for others to recognizing me at events. I agree, and understand the responsibilities.
I'm a native Oregonian that loves being outdoors. I hike throughout the week, and try to backpack a few times a month. Throughout the seasons I also mountain bike, snowboard, and snowshoe. I enjoy seeing as much of Oregon as I can.
I'm enjoying seeing this group grow and become a contributing factor in the local outdoor community. It's good to see a large group of friends enjoy the trails together, work to keep them well maintained, and to educate ourselves on proper trail etiquette. Willamette Valley Outdoors is a great group to meet new friends, see more of the outdoors, and stay in shape.
