Kathy, Brice Creek is a beautiful area. I have led hikes there quite a few times. You can reach Trestle Falls from the other trailhead up near Champion Creek, if that is all you hope to see. I will be adding a hike to there again soon. This nice weather lately is making me anxious for sunshine and more hiking and backpacking.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Any other suggestion people have for upcoming events? I would love to see more events added, especially since we have a lot more members now.

Some things I would enjoy seeing - weekday after work walks or hikes, bike rides along the river, mountain biking trips, rock climbing classes at Willamalane and Crux, kayaking trips, day hikes each weekend, backpacking trips, REI classes, running events, camping trips, and more.

Your suggestions are appreciated. Hope to hear from you.

I noticed you have never gone backpacking to the Waldo Lake Trail for backpacking. 22 mile loop. I'm thinking of planning a trip there. Any particular reason why you've never gone. I'm wondering maybe you guys know something I don't know...

Carley,

It is actually on the list of places we hope to go to this summer. Every so often we get together for planning out events, and backpacking Waldo Lake has been mentioned. Why it has never been done? I think come summer a lot of times waldo Lake gets overlooked due to the mosquitoes. They are kind of legendary there. So when we do the trip, be sure to bring bug spray, long sleeve shirt, pants, and a bug net for over the head. It gets that bad there. So, maybe closer to fall?
