I am sorry for all the recent emails from Meetup but we had our quarterly Board meeting last Sunday and decided on all the field trips and programs for Fall, Winter and Spring. By checking the website you can see all the exciting trips and speakers we have lined up for you. Please note that the next program is on Monday, November 14th with Ro Wauer as our speaker. A great program! Plan to arrive at 6:30 for a social time to get acquainted with other members and our program will begin at 7:00. It is time for our annual meeting to elect board members for next year and have a short business meeting before Ro begins his program.
It is also time to renew your membership in Williamson Audubon Group. Our annual dues are due on January 1 of each year. This will be your opportunity to renew in person before the new year. Another opportunity will be at our February program which will feature Mark Klym from TP&W speaking on his Texas Hummingbird Roundup project. Mark ask you to record your sightings of hummers on a weekly basis and the data is used to determine the status of the 20 species of hummers found in Texas each year. Bring either cash or check to renew, since we do not have credit card capablilty. You can facilitate this by going to our website and downloading the PDF membership application which can be found by clicking on More on the header, then Files and then Membership Form. The dues catagories are found on our form. Those who contribute more that the standard amount are recognized as sponsors on the webpage.
In addition to all the great field trips and programs upcoming, I would like to point you towards something new for WAG. We will be hosting a migration field trip to the Central Texas Coast April 20-22, 2012 (see field trip calendar). I will be working on securing a host hotel and planning the daily trips. Details will be provided on the website when I have them completed. If you are interested you should make your RSVP early to assure you a spot on this trip. We will need to limit the number and if the response is large we will have to secure other leaders and break up into two groups. This is an exciting time of the year and you will have the chance to view many species close up!
I am looking forward to seeing all of you next Monday.
