Texas Ornithology Convention in Weslaco

Great convention and although I'm not into the business meetings, I enjoyed learning more about the mechanics and wonderful people in the org.
The birding stole the show...Skip and I had 108 species in 2 1/2 days! Highlights were the the beautiful orioles (hooded, altamira and Audubon's) all on the feeder at the same time with a chorus of kiskadees and green jays in the trees behind them. The pauraque was in his favorite spot. And we got looks at immature AND adult Aplomado falcons at close range. Then on the way back to Weslaco, we had peregrines over the highway!
Stopped at Choke Canyon on the way home and got black-throated sparrow and green-tailed towhee (makes me miss Colorado).
It was unforgetable! If you attended, let me know what your experience was like.
