Theme: Savoury bakes and breads
Hope you're all enjoying the tennis weather and that (Sir-to-be) Andy's win was to your liking. (It raised the roof in my house.)
Time to put the strawberries and cream aside for this month's democratically elected theme...
Yes, it's savoury time. Pies, pasties, muffins, scones, quiches, flatbreads, crispbreads, wraps, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, vol-au-vents all fit the bill. On the breads side, there are the quicker breads like soda bread and corn bread, and there are the slower breads like the sourdoughs, rye bread, seeded loafs, cobs, focaccia, grizzini, and of course all manner of buns.
If you're bringing a single-flavour bread, please think about bringing something to go with it (such as butter or other spread or dip). And if some of you want to think about adding some element of sweetness in there, even if its caramelised onions or the odd raisin, well I for one wouldn't be disappointed. Just saying!
