Reminder: Wimbledon Village, Rose & Crown, Pub Social Event on Sunday 1 December

Hi All,

Re: Wimbledon Village, Rose & Crown, Pub Social Event on Sunday 1 December at 1300

Just wanted to invite you to a relaxed Sunday afternoon social event at the Rose & Crown pub in Wimbledon Village on 1 December, at 1pm.

Did you know that this landmark pub has been operating since as far back as 1659!? Never realised that the Rose & Crown was that old until recently when I did some internet research. And of course the kegs of beer along with the staff have since (hopefully) changed. Poets, authors and hell-raisers, have come and gone, and now it's the Wimbledon Commoners chance to have their turn to be merry!

So why not come along for a friendly drink, bring a friend or two, and raise a glass, or pint, in honour of the pubs existence through the centuries. Apart from drinks, there is also decent pub grub on offer.

Will collect a small £1 fee that will go towards the costs of Meetup.

The pub is a 15-minute (ish!) walk from Wimbledon Station and the 93 bus to Putney stops almost outside on the opposite side of the road, just before you get to the War Memorial where the Common almost starts.

Should any of you newbies not be familiar with the village, and in case anyone gets lost (it's actually not that difficult to find), my telephone number is 07956 263451.

Look forward to meeting as many of you as possible.

Warm Wishes.

Christopher

Yes! I was pleased to show the Museum to Chris & Tina. It has many interesting displays about the History of Wimbledon. It's only open 2.30 to 5.00. Sat. & Sun. Free.
