  • Ascot is a brilliant day out. We can buy tickets for the grandstand (either online or on the day - £20). You are allowed to bring a picnic and your own alcohol, although there are bars and restaurants/takeaways available. Here are the details of the grandstand:

Racegoers can enjoy elevated viewing or watch the action unfold from the trackside lawns. Grandstand offers spectacular restaurants, bars and picturesque lawns to enjoy plus a range of entertainment away from the track. Guests can enjoy both the Pre-Parade Ring and Parade Ring.

We can either meet at Wimbledon Station and travel together or there is an option of sharing a taxi, which we did last year, which only cost around £10/12 each.

    More details to follow shortly.

Hope you win some money! I went to the Derby and lost. I'll keep a low profile for the next few weeks and hope to be up for a Meet-up then. Thanks for organising this - have fun.

Regarding the dress code, it's good to dress up if you can. As we're in the grandstand, ladies don't have to wear hats, but I would wear a nice dress/trousers and heels. And for the men, it's just smart/casual wear, probably not jeans.

    Hope that helps.
