Paddle from Gambo Dam - Covered Bridge Run

From the intersection of River Rd and Rt 302 in Windham, at the Mobil gas station, go south on River Rd 5.5 miles and turn right onto Gambo Rd.,  go to its end in about 1/2 mile, park on the side of the rd, or in the parking area for the Mountain Division Trail and Windham Soccer Fields.  At the intersection of River Rd and Gambo Rd there is a Valero gas station.

We will launch at Gambo and paddle up this pond-like part of the Presumscot River to the Covered Bridge and back.  Should take about 2 hours.

If it rains, we will go on Thursday, 8/1.

Another excellent paddle meetup for the Windham/Raymond Paddle Club. This was the largest turnout yet! And what an nice evening for a paddle up and down the Presumpscot River! Every time we go I get to meet new people, have great conversation while doing something I love. We saw loons, ducks, Canada geese, an otter and beavers along the way. Oh yes, and one dachshund who got is own souvenir from the trip. I was told that there should be a "cocktail kayak" on these trips. Would you be more or less likely to attend if we had one of those?

Another great paddle site down the lazy river, all that attended had a ball, some more than others, right Obie? A nice quiet paddle where we saw lots of wildlife, ducks, geese, a blue heron, a turtle getting a little sun. Another site added to my "go again sites".

Lovely paddle! It's a beautiful stretch of the river, and I especially liked seeing the beaver and the otter

The weather for Wednesday's paddle from Gambo Dam is looking to be spectacular - of course it is, this is the first time we put in a rain date!
I'm bringing a rental for Soxna. Does anyone else need a rental for this outing?

Take your kayak with you? Tip: It will not pass as a carry on! ;-)
