Paddle Panther Pond from Mill St launch

From the intersection of Routes 115 and 302 in N. Windham (Walgreens), go North on Rt. [masked] miles and turn right onto Rt 121.  In .4 miles turn right onto Mill St and just over the rise on the left, is the launch site.  Parking at the site is limited, but park anywhere along the side of the road - except in front of the fire hydrant.

There is a picturesque little mill pond to launch into that is a locals' favorite, old-fashioned swimming hole.  We will paddle up this short section of Panther Run and into Panther Pond; up past the summer camp on the point that juts out into the middle and loop back to the starting point.  Should take a couple of hours, a little longer if we want to explore the lake more.

Not a problem at all. Totally understandable with showers all around us. We're planning on nothing but good weather next weekend for the "island-hopping" trip!

So sry too, Bill. Didn't trust the weather either, so my friend Deb cancelled for us. Hope you got the message in time. Hopefully next Sunday will work out for us.

It was fantastic! Although there showers in Southern Maine, we were lucky not to have any near Panther Pond; but we kept our eyes on the skies.

raining down here in OOB. just checked the radar and lots of strong storms coming through - don't think kayaking is a great idea.

Sorry, going to have to cancel this outing, too much on the "to do list" and with the weather outlook not going to have much time tomorrow to get it all done...... hope to catch up with everyone next time! :-(

If any one needs a rental for this outing, please let me know. Just $20.00 for kayak, PFD, paddle and delivery to the launch site!

There's also the island you can explore and a nice beach near the summer camp where you can swim. The beach is private to the camp but they don't seem to mind if you use it as long as you carry in/carry out. Great area behind the island with lilly pads and turtles.

I'm one of the locals on Mill St and this is our go-to paddle if we only have an hour or two.
